I’m Heather Hay and, along with my husband Kev, made the move to France in 2009. We began our new life in Montbrun des Corbieres, a small, rustic, wine growing village in Languedoc Roussillon.
In 2013, our search for more “growing land” saw us moving North to a new region and lifestyle in Verteuil sur Charente – a larger village with commerce…almost suburbia compared to Montbrun.
“Living well for less” is about our lifestyle and expectations in striving to enjoy life for as little as possible. It encompasses a bit of everything – self sufficiency, frugalness, natural and organic living, scrimping , penny pinching, making do, recycling, up cycling …… It is a challenge, an adventure and at times really hard work …..there’s no posh pinnies here….but it’s something I love doing and find rewarding.
Most people would envisage living self sufficiently on a minimum of a five acre holding …but this is more about making the most of the land and resources you have. We can all “survive” on very little if needs MUST but this is more about enjoying and making the best of what you have.
I hope you will enjoy sharing the experience and can relate to what I am trying to achieve.
WE LOVE SAVING ON THE ESSENTIALS TO PAY FOR THE LUXURIES 🙂
BEAR WITH ME WHILE I ADD EVERYTHING YOU ARE WAITING TO GET TO KNOW.
